This month marks the 20th Anniversary of the most popular skate shoe of all time: Steve Caballero’s signature model Half Cab. For this joyous occasion, Vans has decided to team up and collaborate with one of the most popular Rock Bands of all time as well. The band is Metallica and its an honor and pleasure for Steve to have this collaboration come into play for the celebration of his very own signature shoe.
This month will mark the release of this shoe to an abundance of different skate shops around the world. The heavyweight shoe featuring a smooth suede background will feature Metallic embossing all along the pair. This one of a kind collaboration will also include classic lyrics stamped on the side as well as an exclusive clear rubber sole with the Kill Em All album artwork debuting through it.
It couldn’t have been more appropriate to work with Metallica on this important project considering this, “To have Metallica, my all-time favorite metal band, collaborating with me on this 20th anniversary Half Cab shoe is an honor and a dream come true.” -Steve Caballero himself.
This only marks the beginning of something great considering there will be many more surprises to come. In Spring of 2013 its been said that there will be a 2 product drop that’ll feature a collection designed by every member of the band itself. Look for big things to come!

Out with the old and in with the new, Huf just recently brought us the Spring 2012 Collection with the aid of the Spring Lookbook. They enlisted photographer Brian Kelley as well to direct the overall effect of the book. Just add Brian, Huf riders Emilio Cuilan and Tucker Phillips to the equation, and a masterpiece is what you’ll end up with.

The book was shot in the streets of New York for a clean yet raw feel of the brand’s appearance, and not only that, whats a better setting for Huf then Keith’s native land. The book traces back to its roots with the visual imagery of where Huf and its counterparts where conceived.
The collection is consistent as always and focuses on a wide variety of pieces consisting of hats, tees, and shoes as well. Huf keeps it simple with their combination of street and skate wear that ultimately keeps us satisfied with variation and style.
and while you’re at it, Check out the Huf Collection right here on our online store at Stix!

Andre the Giant can be seen and recognized as an icon for OBEY, yet many people don’t know the reason as to why or the meaning of his reference. Well its simple, it doesn’t have a meaning. When one sees the image of Andre, people construe their own opinions and ideology behind the figure. It broadens their conceptual thinking while at the same time bringing their expression to light. That is the purpose of OBEY, to enlighten the masses with striking visual imagery and to let them form conclusions about society and the world we live in. The medium is the message, and the goal is to inform and educate. Philosophical theories and concepts are continually declining in the next generations to come, and founder Shepard Fairey is well aware of that. See beyond what the media and society tells you to do, think for yourself and come to terms with the ideas and philosophies that are running amok through your mind. Basically, OBEY.
