What does Los Angeles and Australia have in common? Let’s see…. good surf, pretty decent skate spots…. and oh yeah The Hundreds and Penny Australia collaboration. Not too many people were able to get their hands on this bad boy so if you did consider yourself lucky.

The Hundreds continues to collaborate with the hottest brands as Penny Skateboards have pretty much taken over the cruiser market. Everywhere you go it seems someone’s got one in their backpack and now I’m seeing them with different accessories anywhere from colored tip hardware to swirly wheels. I think one of the biggest appeals to the Penny Skateboard comeback is their size. Kids can actually stow these boards inside their backpack and carry them into class. If you don’t have kids and have been out of school a few years, lockers are now hard to come by and you can’t bring your boards (visibly) inside the classroom. But most of all these little zip zingers are fun. Take a look at this video titled “Viva Vacation” and then go gran one at your local non-corporate skate shop. Peace in the Middle East.

It’s hard to go anywhere in L.A. nowadays without seeing someone rocking a Brixton Fedora, Cap, or snap back. The styles are classic and seem to cross all genres, backgrounds, and even generations. I wasn’t born, conceived, or even a twinkle in my dad’s eye in the 1930′s when these type of caps were worn by many people of that era.
It’s December 2011 and dudes from Skaters to older cats are all about it. Brixton also has taken some time to put together a team of riders from skate to surf and have recently collaborated with Fender to design a vinyl record and guitar case. Look for big things come 2012!
