There’s an abundance of different skate companies that have a certain characteristic that sets them apart from the others. Distinction plays a key role in the success of a company because without it they’d all be the same, another company mixed in with the others. As it was said before, originality is one of the biggest assets a company can have.
Some companies specialize in one thing, another company may specialize in another. Whatever their specialty is, its what attracted their audience to their brand in the first place. Theres a wide range of demographics and generations that spread across the board with different tastes and likings, so with that in mind different companies accommodate those tastes and likings.
Hook-Ups is the brand that displays their appeal through bold imagery, females, and other visuals that catch our attention. Anime is one of their biggest themes, and its been used to display Jeremy Klein’s interests. Jeremy Klein by the way is the founder of Hook-Ups as well as a professional skateboarder.

He founded it back in July of 1994, it started out as a simple clothing line including all of his favorite pastimes including Japanese anime, ice cream, skateboarding, and of course women. The overwhelming popularity of the line turned it into a full fledged skate company with skateboard decks as well as various types of apparel and accessories.
This brand has evolved from its original anime roots to creating characters and an overall style all in its own. What started out as a t-shirt line has since evolved into something that collectors seek on a regular basis.

The Deadly Skateboarding Sins. If you aren’t familiar with these crimes, then its time to get acquainted. Either that or let the real skaters be the judge. True skateboarders know these wrongdoings by heart, and will continually call out any individual accused of these charges.
The first on the agenda would be the Vain skater. Ironically theres no such thing for real skaters anyway, but to sum it up theres no reason to worry about your outfit and how dirty it may get. If you rip and shred you know how dingy, scuffed, and battered your possessions become. Leave the nail polish at home if you don’t plan on getting filthy.
Secondly, theres no reason to get mad and break your board. It wasn’t your board’s fault that busted your chops, it was you. Put the time and effort into your technic and it should eventually pay off. Other than that, breaking your board will leave you on foot and mad again for the next few weeks until you waste your money and buy another one… Right?
Thirdly, through luck or chance you happen to have access to a sick skating spot such as a ramp or empty pool, yet nobody has your permission to use it. Instead of providing a haven, you abuse your power like a sprinkled donut eating cop at a traffic stop. Either that or everyone looks at you like that one kid in elementary that wouldn’t let anyone play with his toys. Remember sharing is caring.
Now on to the next point, living in this day in age, we have grown accustomed to technology and laziness. Whether playing your PS3, watching tv, surfing the web, or browsing through netflix, it almost certainly hasn’t benefited you except for curing your boredom. Aside from the norm, some skaters might watch the same video over and over, but if you aren’t actually picking your board up and attempting the trick, then you might as well play Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater.
At last, we have came to a conclusion of these atrocities, with one more to linger in your futile mind. When you smell the stench and hear the flattery and adornment of random douches around you, its time to make some moves. Not a nose slide, but actual moves into getting you past the local celebrity phase and into a legitimate situation regarding your skills. But if you’re fine with getting nowhere, do just that, no one else is going to stop you.
All in all, don’t be a Poser.
